About The Company

Clausens Canvas & PVC Ltd was founded in 1906 by Frank Bertram Clausen and the business was then known as Clausen's Saddlery.

Grant Clausens purchased the business in 1988 and hired staff that are still currently with us today, for example:

Marcus Hammett - has been working in the industry since 1999, On the 10th June 2002 he started an apprenticeship with Clausens Canvas and PVC and 12 months later had won the industries OFPANZ Apprentice of the year Award for New Zealand apprentices. Marcus then left to expand his knowledge in the Automotive upholstery trade in February 2006 and was then re-employed with Clausens in October 2007. Marcus Hammett is now an owner of Clausens Canvas & PVC Ltd. 

Lorraine McRae - had been employed as a part time machinist since 2001 and began fulltime in February 2006.

Dillon Reekie - Is an Apprentice at Clausens and recently won the 2011 OFPANZ Apprentice of the year tier 1 award, Dillon has been within the company for over 2 years.

The business continues to offer both the old and modern manufacturing ideas and trends and in recent years have seen a move into Marquee Manufacturing and Hire, Shadecloth Sails, Blinds & Screens, Large hay covers, Motor Trimming, Caravan Awnings, Truck Tarps & Bin Covers and Boat, Machinery & Custom made covers.

Grant Clausen sold the business in April 2011 and as stated above is now owned by Marcus and Kaysee Hammett.
